Mel Ntombela is the current Chairperson of the Community Tourism Organization known as INK Tourism. For the period between 2017 and 2022, he was Vice Chair of the Tourism forum at the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mr. Ntombela is also the proud owner and managing director of Isimanje Travel, a subsidiary of Isimanje Marketing Group (Pty) Ltd. Over the course of his career, he has served as a marketing consultant for a variety of tourism businesses, primarily focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises, and participated in a number of tourism initiatives.

According to Mr. Ntombela, who has worked in the tourist industry for more than 13 years, "tourism has the potential to be the best driver of economic growth in South Africa, especially in townships and rural regions." This is the reason for his unwavering passion for the industry.
